Care
Enrichment that actually counts
Two categories, checked separately: food-based enrichment and habitat enrichment. This page lists which items appear most often across the Zoopedia.
Enrichment is one of the five welfare categories. The species record lists the items that count for that animal, which is why copying a build from another habitat rarely works.
| Item | Species that list it |
|---|---|
| Melon Feeder | 44 |
| Bamboo Feeder | 25 |

| Hanging Grazer Feeder | 16 |
| Fruit Spike Tree | 14 |
| Block of Frozen Fish | 13 |
| Frozen Blood Pumpkin | 13 |
| Scarecrow Feeder | 13 |
| Item | Species that list it |
|---|---|
| Small Ball | 33 |
| Mud Bath | 26 |
| Rubbing Pillar | 24 |
| Small Ice Ball | 23 |
| Submarine Buoy | 20 |

- Food-based and habitat enrichment are separate checks: a habitat full of balls does not cover feeding.
- Research unlocks several items, so a welfare warning can be a research gap rather than a build mistake.
- 1.0.4 improved enrichment interactions; if an animal ignored an item on launch week, re-test.
FAQ
FAQ
Common questions about this topic.
Which enrichment items are most common?
Melon Feeder and Bamboo Feeder lead the food-based list; Small Ball and Mud Bath lead the habitat list. The tables above count species, not placements.
Does extra enrichment help every species?
Only items the species record lists. Unlisted items do not count toward the category.
Is there a maximum?
The record lists what counts; adding more of the same item is not the goal — covering both categories is.
