Genetics and breeding quality
The Zoopedia publishes breeding values, not a genetics model. This page separates what is documented from what only the in-game panel shows.
Every species record carries maturity, gestation, interbirth interval, litter size and a reproduction difficulty rating. Colour morphs exist too (the giant panda record lists an albino morph). What the records do not publish is an inheritance model — so this site does not invent one.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Reproduction difficulty | Published per species — every current record reads Easy |
| Litter size | Published per species |
| Interbirth interval | Published per species |
| Colour morphs | Mentioned where the Zoopedia lists them |
| Inheritance rules | Not published — check the in-game panel |
- Plan breeding around the interbirth interval: it caps throughput more than litter size does.
- Colour morphs are worth noting for collection goals but should not be promised as outcomes.
- If you need a specific trait, verify it in game before trading animals for it.
FAQ
Common questions about this topic.
Does inbreeding matter?
The game exposes a genetics panel; the Zoopedia records used here do not publish inbreeding rules, so this site does not state a threshold.
Are all species equally easy to breed?
Every current record shows reproduction difficulty Easy, which makes the interbirth interval the real constraint.
What about colour morphs?
Some records list them (for example the albino giant panda); treat them as collection goals, not guarantees.
